Elvis Lives! Riley Keough Pays Tribute to Grandfather With This Hidden Gem!

Riley Keough, the star of Amazon Video’s new series Daisy Jones & The Six, has been seen wearing a guitar strap similar to the one worn by her legendary grandfather, Elvis Presley.

The series, based on the popular Taylor Jenkins Reid novel, tells the story of a fictional ’70s band that skyrocketed to fame before suddenly breaking up. In its second episode, Daisy Jones (Keough) performs a song called “Two Against Three” while wearing a patterned red guitar strap that many have likened to the one Presley wore in his ’68 Comeback Special, which aired on NBC.

It has since been confirmed that the guitar strap is a replica called the New Yorker / the Woodstock model made by Ace Strap company. The guitar strap is also known for being worn by Jimi Hendrix during his performance at the Woodstock music festival in 1969.

The exact same guitar strap that was featured in the show is Keough’s own, which she shared in an interview with BuzzFeed. “It was my personal guitar, and I wanted to use it in the show,” the Zola actress told the outlet.

According to costume designer Denise Wingate, the series features multiple homages to Presley. Wingate worked with a rock and roll designer named Love Melody, who designed two jumpsuits for the “Jailhouse Rock” singer in the ’70s.

“She actually made two jumpsuits for Elvis Presley, so I had her make two beautiful, long coats for the show,” said Wingate. “One is a denim leather patchwork long coat and the other a beautiful rust leather. She made those. I thought it was nice to bring that back in the fold and have a little bit of that history.”
