Megan Markle has a new nickname, and former staffers believe she’s earned it.
She’s being called the “Wicked Sister-In-Law.”
Excerpts from a new book called “Courtiers: The Hidden Power Behind the Crown,” written by Valentine Low, describe how Megan Markle was quite demanding, rude, and a downright nightmare to staff.
The book, set to come out October 6, states that many of the staffers refer to Meghan as a “narcissistic sociopath.”
Low, a veteran reporter of all things royal, tells an early tale of how Markel treated her staff.
The book goes on to say that the toxicity of working for Meghan was so intense that some members of their staff called themselves “the Sussex Survivors Club.”
According to the book, Markle wanted conflict. A source in the book said, “She wanted to be rejected because she was obsessed with that narrative from day one.”
This is not the first time that we’re hearing rumors of Markel’s behavior. In 2017, complaints from staff were raised. Markels response was, “It’s not my job to coddle people.”
That statement alone can give validity to the complaints and her “nickname.”
Another incident was recorded when Meghan spoke harshly at a meeting to a young female staffer in front of everyone. Meghan tore apart a woman’s proposal, and when the woman commented on how difficult it would be to implement a new one, Meghan said, “Don’t worry, If there was literally anyone else I could ask to do this, I would be asking them instead of you.”
According to the book, another staffer said the abuse was relentless,
“On another occasion, when Meghan felt she had been let down over an issue that was worrying her, she rang repeatedly when the staffer was out for dinner on a Friday night. ‘Every ten minutes, I had to go outside to be screamed at by her and Harry. It was, “I can’t believe you’ve done this. You’ve let me down. What were you thinking?” It went on for a couple of hours.’ The calls started again the next morning and continued ‘for days’, the staffer continued to say. ‘You could not escape them. There were no lines or boundaries – it was last thing at night, first thing in the morning.’”
The list of complaints goes on and on. The book said, according to one source, that: “There were a lot of broken people. Young women were broken by their behavior.”
Still, other sources used names like “outrageous bullies,” and “dreadful” to describe the couple.
The book includes emails from Jason Knauf, the communications secretary for the couple, as well as another source saying that former royal aide Samantha Cohen, former assistant private secretary to the now-deceased Queen Elizabeth II, “always made clear that it was like working for a couple of teenagers. They were impossible and pushed her to the limit. She was miserable.”
Allegedly Markle was not only demanding and rude to her staff but to Harry as well.
One source said, “She was saying, ‘If you don’t put out a statement confirming I’m your girlfriend, I’m going to break up with you.”
Another source added that Harry “was freaking out, saying, ‘She’s going to dump me.’”
