Trouble in Paradise for Taylor Swift…Again

Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn have split after six years together, Us Weekly has confirmed. The Grammy-winning singer and The Favourite actor reportedly started dating in May 2017 and were “very much in love” according to an insider.

During their three-year relationship, Swift wrote songs about their relationship and collaborated with him on her eighth studio album, Folklore. In December 2020, Swift gave hints at her romance with the Mary Queen of Scots actor while reflecting on the making of Folklore. “Joe and I really love sad songs. We’ve always bonded over music. … We write the saddest. We just really love sad songs. What can I say?” she told Zane Lowe on his Apple Music show.

In March 2020, an insider revealed that the couple had discussed their future and marriage. “[They] have talked about their future and marriage. They don’t have a set deadline in place, but they’re very much in love. … [Joe] has always been a huge support and stuck by her.”

Although the “Lavender Haze” singer was open about her relationship, Alwyn was more private. Speaking to WSJ Magazine in May 2022, he said, “If I had a pound for every time I think I’ve been told I’ve been engaged, then I’d have a lot of pound coins. I mean, the truth is, if the answer was yes, I wouldn’t say, and if the answer was no, I wouldn’t say.”

Swift and Alwyn were first linked in May 2017 and have since split after six years together. During their three-year relationship, they talked about their future and marriage and collaborated on her studio album. While Swift was open about their relationship, Alwyn chose to remain private, only speaking out in May 2022 when asked about engagement speculation.
