Brave Pregnant Mother Prevents Robbery in Arkansas

In a stunning display of bravery and quick thinking, a pregnant woman defended her family from a would-be robber during a visit to Little Rock, Arkansas. The incident occurred while the family from Mississippi was celebrating their daughter’s seventh birthday, turning their joyous occasion into a harrowing ordeal. The pregnant woman, identified as a 25-year-old mother, shot the assailant in the head and neck, saving her family from potential harm.

As the family loaded their vehicle in the River Market parking garage, an assailant allegedly assaulted the father from behind, leaving him with a fractured rib. The attacker then turned his attention to the mother, punching her while she sat in the front seat of the car. Sensing the imminent danger to her loved ones, the courageous pregnant woman retrieved her firearm and fearlessly defended her family. She shot the would-be robber, identified as Markevious King, in the head and neck, effectively neutralizing the threat and preventing any further harm.

While the exact motive of the assailant remains unknown, the family expressed concerns about their safety due to residing in crime-stricken Memphis, Tennessee. The father stated in an interview that they were no strangers to violence, and they refused to allow it to dictate their lives. Their decision to travel to Arkansas was a testament to their determination not to be confined by fear, even though it ultimately led them to this harrowing encounter.

“We live near Memphis, and this kind of happens to people here all the time. So, I mean, it’s not something we are going to let shine down or shadow down on our lives because we do like to travel,” the husband said.

The heroic actions of the pregnant woman saved her family from potentially grave consequences. Her swift and decisive response highlights the importance of self-defense and the right to protect oneself and loved ones in the face of imminent danger. The Little Rock Police Department, upon investigation, confirmed that the woman acted in self-defense, and no charges have been filed against her.
