Actress Shares Scary Health Update: ‘I’m Not Ready to Die’

Actress Shannen Doherty is remaining hopeful and determined despite her recent announcement that her stage 4 breast cancer has spread to her bones. In an exclusive interview with People Magazine, the 52-year-old opened up about her ongoing battle with cancer and her determination to keep living life to the fullest.

Doherty, known for her roles in “Charmed” and “Beverly Hills, 90210,” shared that she has no plans to let her diagnosis hinder her work or her advocacy for cancer research. “I don’t want to die,” she said, highlighting her strong will to fight and live a meaningful life.

The actress, who was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015, has been dealing with the disease for almost a decade. Despite undergoing eight rounds of chemotherapy and radiation, she went into remission in 2017. However, in 2018, her tumor markers became elevated, and it was revealed that the cancer had returned as stage 4.

In June of this year, Doherty shared an emotional video on social media revealing that the cancer had spread to her brain, and she was undergoing radiation treatment. But even in the face of this news, she remains positive and hopeful, saying, “I’m not done with living. I’m not done with loving. I’m not done with creating.”

The actress also opened up about her frustrations with the way cancer patients are often treated and labeled as “done” with life. She wants people to understand that individuals fighting cancer are still vibrant and have a different outlook on life. “We are people who want to work and embrace life and keep moving forward,” she explained.

Despite the challenges she has faced, Doherty remains grateful for her faith, which she says has been her mantra throughout this difficult journey. “My greatest memory is yet to come,” she said. “My faith is my mantra.”
