The Pitch Goes Wild, The Batter Goes Down Hard But What Happened Next Stunned Everyone

Spectators witnessed a heartwarming moment during a little League regional tournament after it took a shocking turn.

A video that captured a scary moment during the game on Tuesday in Waco, Texas, went viral, showing Oklahoma’s Isiah Jarvis being struck in the head by a wild pitch. Texas East pitcher Kaiden Shelton was visibly shaken up as Jarvis lay in the batter’s box.

After Jarvis was deemed ok, he took first base.  It was then that we saw a touching moment. Jarvis noticed how upset Shelton was, so he headed toward the pitcher’s mound to comfort the upset pitcher.

Shelton was taken out of the game after a brief mound visit with Jarvis as well as his team and coaches.

But before anyone else could join the two at the mound, it seemed like Jarvis had some encouraging words for Shelton, as they embraced on the mound.

Jarvis told pitcher Kaiden Shelton “Hey, you’re doing great. Let’s go.”

“I wanted to make sure he was all right,” Isaiah told NBC News’ host Gadi Schwartz. “And I wanted to make sure he knew that I was all right.”

This is a true sign of sportsmanship, kindness, and forgiveness. The hug stirred the hearts of many in the stands and drew a standing ovation from the crowd at the stadium.

The moment has gained a lot of attention and garnered several positive reactions on Twitter.

Fox News’s Shannon Bream tweeted, “So classy and thoughtful. We should really celebrate young people when they are kind. We’ve all made countless mistakes.”

She added, “How generous when someone encourages us to keep going, especially if they were the ones on the other end of our mistake.”

Journalist Dan Rather reacted, saying, “We can learn from the instincts of children. More comfort and empathy.”

“This is why playing sports is more than just who wins or loses. You learn. You grow. You overcome,” another user wrote.
