In a celebration that seemed straight out of a fairytale, Derek Hough and Hayley Erbert tied the knot in a breathtaking wedding ceremony set amidst the majestic redwood forest of Monterey County, California. The event, which took place on a picturesque cliffside estate, was nothing short of spectacular and featured a myriad of heartwarming moments and celebrity appearances.
The couple, renowned for their appearances on “Dancing with the Stars,” met in 2014 when Erbert joined Derek and his sister Julianne on tour. Their journey to wedded bliss culminated in a wedding that exuded classic and timeless elegance. The bride, Hayley Erbert, wore a custom duchess satin gown designed by Georgina Chapman from Marchesa, complemented by a long veil, blusher, and jewelry from Ring Concierge.
The groom, Derek Hough, looked dashing in a Tom Ford suit for the ceremony, later changing into a Brooks Brothers outfit for the reception. The couple’s wedding party donned silky champagne attire adorned with pink, white, and green foliage to harmonize with the decor.
The wedding ceremony, held in front of a towering redwood tree, symbolized the couple planting seeds for their future family. The pair exchanged personal and traditional vows, sealing their love with a kiss. The officiation was conducted by Derek’s brother-in-law, adding a special touch to the ceremony.
Guests, including celebrity friends like Nina Dobrev, Shaun White, and Alfonso Ribeiro, were treated to a sumptuous dinner with options such as steak, salmon, and vegetarian dishes. The couple’s love for nature and romance inspired the choice of Northern California as the wedding location, allowing guests to immerse themselves in the natural beauty of the redwood forest.
The reception took place in a rustic barn adorned with Signature chandeliers and breathtaking floral arrangements by In Blume. The night was filled with speeches from family members and a performance by the Jordan Kahn Music Company. The couple chose a huckleberry lavender cake by Kelly Gray Cakes and even set up a snack bar for their guests.
The magical evening continued with the couple sharing their first dance to the tune of “Fall Into Me” by Forrest Blakk. Hayley Erbert later changed into a lace dress with a tulle skirt and detachable train, designed by Marchesa.
The newlyweds, who described their wedding as “a big love fest,” are set to embark on a honeymoon in Italy, exploring enchanting destinations like Lake Como, Positano, Amalfi Coast, Rome, Tuscany, and Florence. Their love story, which began in the world of dance, has now blossomed into a lifelong journey filled with love and joy, with the promise of dancing together until the end of time.
