A soon-to-be married couple will need a ring bearer, but it was a little early for one to show up at their proposal!
A large black bear discourteously interrupted a couple’s marriage proposal as it came strolling up the stairs and the video has gone viral.
In the video, you can see Ricardo Morales down on one knee, asking one of the most important questions of his life to his now-fiancée in front of red rose petals and light-up letters that read “marry me”, when all of the sudden, a bear walked in to join the special moment.
The huge bear made decided to crash Morales’ elaborate proposal to Cecilia Canabal at the Chipinque Ecological Park in Cerro de Chipinque, Nuevo Leon State, Mexico last week. Thankfully, no one was harmed.
The hilarious video has now gone viral. It came as quite the shock when the unexpected guess made an appearance as Morales was down on one knee, popping the question to his now-fiancée.
Morales told Jam Press, “The incident took place just after the ‘yes’ when I was going to put the ring on her finger.”
“That’s when we heard the waiters/gardeners tell us ‘don’t be afraid.’”
As they turned around, the couple spotted a “giant shadow” approaching them as it was “climbing up the terrace steps.”
Morales said, “We told each other ‘don’t move,’ which is why we’re static in the video when the bear passed. It then climbed over a wall and went into a garden.”
The couple remained as still as possible as the bear waltzed through the terrace during their special moment. After the bear finally walks away, Canabal answered the all important question and said, “yes.”
The clip has gone viral with more than 340,000 views and over 2,000 likes. Viewers can see the bear leisurely strolling past the nearly engaged couple soon after Morales drops to his knee.
The video prompted comments ranging from jokes to true admiration for an unforgettable moment.
One comment jokingly stated, “Wasn’t the bear wearing the ring?”
“What a beautiful memory!” another commented.
Another agreed saying, “And it will be unforgettable.”
“That [bear] is great, it’s good that he didn’t pay attention to the people,” another said.
“Excuse me, I’m just going for a snack,” someone joked in another comment.
