Is there trouble in paradise? Tom Brady and his wife Gisele have been married for over 13 years, but like most, they’ve had their share of rough patches. Could this be it for them though?
Rumors began to circulate that tension was brewing in their marriage when Brady decided to un-retire and return for another season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Reportedly, Gisele was seen strolling with their nine year old daughter in New York. A witness shared that Gisele was seen crying the day before as she was walking along the Hudson river talking on the phone. Normally, Gisele is with Tom, which is what makes her appearance in New York unusual.
“Gisele was walking on her own on the West Side, crying into her mobile phone,” the witness told the outlet.
According to Entertainment Tonight, Bündchen and Brady are living separately while they try to work through their problems.
“Gisele has been telling Tom for a while he needs to spend more time with the family, and after he retired, she thought she was getting what she asked for,” a source told the outlet. “Once Tom decided to go back to the NFL, she was devastated. Gisele is very hurt.”
Another person close to the couple stated, “Gisele is upset with Tom and wants some space right now. She is getting pushed to her limit. She has always supported Tom and has been there for him, but she is over it. She doesn’t think Tom has been himself lately.”
Just two months after announcing his retirement, Brady came back to the game. Gisele shared her concerns in a story in Elle’s magazine. She said, “Obviously, I have my concerns. This is a very violent sport, and I have my children, and I would like him to be more present,” she told the outlet. “I have definitely had those conversations with him over and over again. But, ultimately, I feel that everybody has to make a decision that works for [them]. He needs to follow his joy, too.”
Brady did share that he felt guilty being away from his wife and kids while dedicating his life to the NFL.
Brady stated, “I do feel, maybe, some guilt that I haven’t been able to do that in the same way for my kids, but I’m doing the best I can do,” Brady said. “I’m trying to be really conscious and aware of that, and then when I do have the time to spend with them, I’m really present.”
Maybe enough is enough for Gisele this time. Gisele did not attend the Buccaneer’s season opener against the Dallas Cowboys in Texas on Sunday, but she did tweet her support, saying, “Let’s go @TomBrady ! Let’s go Bucs !”
