The couple probably had something old, something borrowed and they definitely had something blue, however, they did NOT need something ‘cringy’ as well.
A woman’s wedding speech for her friend has gone viral after delivering a very awkward moment at her friend’s wedding.
The TikTok video which has gone viral has gained over 11 million views. The video was posted by the groom’s sister, Tori, and shows the speech becoming uncomfortable very quickly.
The caption in the video reads, “CRINGE WARNING.” It continued by saying, “So my brother got married this past weekend and this was one of the speeches from friends.”
One comment said, “Think miss girl was nervous but wheeww had a few of us like [several nervous emojis].”
The woman in the video identified herself as Shannon and a friend of the bride. The woman goes on to say she has known the bride for several years but doesn’t really know the groom, although she’s heard a lot about him.
“You better take care of my girl, because if you don’t, I know where you live,” said Shannon, receiving a bit of laughter from the crowd.
After that, everything began to go downhill.
“You’re a part of the family, I swear to God. Like, I’m not going to be racist, you guys, I’m just sayin’,” the clearly nervous and obnoxious Shannon stated.
“I’m not gonna be racist, OK,” said Shannon, before saying that interracial couples are “outstepping the stereotype and I love it.”
Many TikTok users were quick to comment on the uncomfortable speech, with many comparing her tirade to “The Office” character, Michael Scott.
“Oh. My. God,” one person said, while another said, “Keeps getting worse.”
“WHATTTTTTT, this is like watching stand-up on an open mic night,” quipped in a third.
Other users questioned the bride’s judgment on letting the ‘friend’ speak.
