He was later replaced by Timothy B. Schmit.

Throughout his life, Meisner experienced love and loss. He married his high school sweetheart, Jennifer Lee Barton, with whom he had three children before their divorce in 1981. Later, in November 1996, he married Lana Rae, who remained his spouse until her passing in 2016.
