Teen Follows His Moms Advice & Gets A Reward Beyond His Imagination, ‘My Mom Always Told Me Since I Was Little…

At 17 years old, Adrian Rodriquez is being rewarded for his honesty and kindness. Rodriquez found a woman’s green purse in a store parking lot in Chula Vista, California.  While many may have stolen what was inside, Rodriquez decided to deliver it himself to the owner’s front door.

Although the owner, Eliana Martin, wasn’t there, the purse was left with the roommates, and the home’s surveillance video was later used to track down the high school graduate to show him some love.

Melina Marquez, a roommate of Eliana Martin, recalled, “I looked into the Ring camera, and I was like, ‘Oh my God. He’s such a young kid’, we need to find him and just give him a little piece of gratitude.”

The found purse, the bag contained $20, and a wallet full of credit cards.  Marquez and Martin posted the image captured on the camera on social media and found the young man who returned the bag.

Adrian told NBC News, “My mom always told me since I was little to always do the right thing when nobody’s around,” He continued saying,  “I didn’t expect nothing back, honestly.”

Adrian also said, “If someone found my stuff, I’d want them to bring it back to me,”. If only more people were like Adrian.

The good news doesn’t stop there. Adrian was rewarded with over $18,000 from donors that Marquez organized on a GoFundMe campaign as a way for people to reward Adrian’s honesty.

Marquez told 10News, “Every parent right now hopes that their children grow up to be just like this young gentleman.”

We congratulate Adrian on his character! Even though he did not expect a reward and was simply doing the right thing, we are happy that he received a reward for his honesty. It is our hope that more young people follow Adrian’s example.
