Las Vegas – “Pawn Stars” lead Rick Harrison has revealed that his 39-year-old son, Adam, died from a fentanyl overdose. In a statement to The Post on Monday, Harrison, 58, confirms that his son’s death was caused by the powerful synthetic opioid.
“It is with heavy hearts that we can confirm Adam died from a fentanyl overdose,” Harrison said in his statement. “The fentanyl crisis in this country must be taken more seriously. It is a tragedy that this highly potent drug is able to flow over the borders with seemingly no consequences, and we must do better.”
Adam’s cause of death was first reported by TMZ on Friday, and it appears that the family was notified soon afterwards. On that same day, Rick Harrison took to Instagram to share a photo of him and his son smiling at a bar, with the caption: “You will always be in my heart! I love you Adam.”
Rick’s rep confirmed that Adam died in Las Vegas, and that the family is still grieving the loss of their beloved son and brother. The “Pawn Stars” star is now speaking out about his son’s death, urging for more action to be taken to address the rampant fentanyl crisis in the United States.
The Harrison family has been overwhelmed with grief in the wake of Adam’s death. Rick’s other son, Corey, 40, shared a throwback photo of himself and Adam in a bathtub on his Instagram with the heartfelt caption: “Wax wtf I will always love you bubba.”

Adam was one of two sons that Rick Harrison had with his first wife, Kim. He also has a third son, Jake, with his second wife, Tracy. Despite Adam not appearing on “Pawn Stars” like his brothers, he reportedly worked at the Las Vegas Gold & Silver Pawn Shop, which is shown in the popular History Channel show.
“Pawn Stars” has been on the air since 2009, and it follows the multigenerational family as they run their pawn shop, and authenticate objects brought in by customers before making purchase offers. Adam’s absence on the show may have been due to his decision to step away from the pawn shop, according to TMZ.
Rick’s Instagram account is filled with photos of his family members, but Adam is noticeably absent. However, this has not stopped the rest of the Harrison family from publicly expressing their love and condolences for the loss of their loved one.
TMZ was the first to break the news of Adam’s death, and since then, fans of “Pawn Stars” and the Harrison family have been sending their thoughts and prayers to the grieving family. As the country continues to grapple with the fentanyl crisis, Harrison’s statement serves as a powerful reminder of the devastating consequences that this opioid can have on individuals and families.
The Harrison family has not released any details regarding Adam’s funeral or memorial services. However, it is clear that his loved ones will always remember him as a beloved son and brother, who was taken too soon by the opioid crisis. As for “Pawn Stars,” it is unclear how the show will move forward without the presence of Rick’s son, but it is certain that Adam’s memory will continue to live on in the hearts and minds of his family and fans.
