Reports Says Oprah Hospitalized

Hello everyone, today, we’ve got some important news about the legendary Oprah Winfrey. She’s currently recovering after being admitted to the hospital due to some “very serious” stomach problems. Gayle King, Oprah’s close friend, shared details about this medical emergency during the Tuesday, June 11, episode of CBS Mornings.

Gayle mentioned that Oprah had a severe stomach flu, causing symptoms that were, well, let’s just say quite unpleasant. “She had some kind of stomach thing — stomach flu — where stuff was coming out of both ends. I won’t get too graphic,” said King. “But needless to say, she ended up in the hospital, dehydration, she had an IV.

So it was a very serious thing.” She reassured everyone, adding, “She will be okay. I hope she’s not mad at me for sharing that detail.”

The reason this came up was that Oprah had to miss a scheduled appearance on CBS Mornings. She was supposed to introduce her latest book club selection, “Familiaris,” by David Wroblewski.

This book is a follow-up to Wroblewski’s debut novel, “The Story of Edgar Sawtelle,” which Oprah also endorsed back in 2008. Since Oprah couldn’t make it, the author discussed his new book with the show’s three hosts instead.

Shortly after Gayle King shared this update, Oprah Daily’s Instagram account released a statement about Oprah’s condition. It said, “Ms. Winfrey is recovering following a stomach virus and received an IV due to dehydration at the recommendation of her doctor. She is resting and feeling better every day,” signed by a spokesperson for Oprah.

At 70 years old, Oprah recently completed the press tour for “The Color Purple” remake, a film she co-produced. The movie received an Oscar nomination and won 11 NAACP Image Awards, including Outstanding Motion Picture and Outstanding Ensemble Cast in a Motion Picture.

The cast members, like Fantasia Barrino, Colman Domingo, and Taraji P. Henson, received accolades for their outstanding performances.

In a December interview with People magazine, Oprah mentioned using an unnamed weight loss medication as a “maintenance tool.” Some of these medications, such as Ozempic and other semaglutides, can cause side effects like stomach pain, vomiting, and diarrhea, which might be related to her recent health issues.

Folks, let’s all send our best wishes to Oprah for a speedy recovery. She’s a powerhouse who has touched so many lives, and we hope to see her back to her usual vibrant self soon. Remember to take care of yourselves and those around you!
