The esteemed Oscar winner, aged 59, and the rising star from “Snowfall,” aged 31, donned matching white racing suits adorned with black lettering as they engaged in filming, coinciding with an actual live racing event.
Despite the passing of time, Brad Pitt appeared as youthful and vibrant as ever, exchanging smiles with his young co-star as they walked side by side. The camaraderie between the two actors was evident during breaks, where they shared friendly moments and even exchanged back slaps while shooting scenes.
This yet-to-be-titled film revolves around Brad Pitt’s character, a legendary racer who decides to come out of retirement to serve as a mentor to a younger driver. According to Deadline, Damson Idris successfully secured his role after an extensive selection process involving numerous meetings, auditions, and even several days of driving tests. Joining the cast alongside Pitt and Idris is Tobias Menzies, known for his roles in “Outlander” and “The Crown,” as well as Kerry Condon, an Oscar-nominee recognized for her performance in “The Banshees of Inisherin.”
The film will be directed by Joseph Kosinski, fresh off the success of “Top Gun: Maverick” in 2022, which captivated audiences and marked a triumphant return to the big screen. Damson Idris gained prominence through his role as the ambitious 19-year-old drug dealer, Franklin Saint, in the critically acclaimed FX series “Snowfall” under the direction of the late John Singleton.
