A New York mother’s quick thinking not only saved her daughter but caught a registered sex offender.
During a trip to Walmart, TikTok user @dd_escapades capture a suspicious man recording herself and her daughter.
“I don’t know him, and he’s following me and recording me,” the woman said after discretely pointing the camera at him and zooming in.
Once the man realized he was being recorded, he took off.
The mom immediately went to the store manager to have the man removed from the store.
“I don’t know if he’s just some weirdo. I don’t know if he’s on drugs or drunk, or if he’s part of some trafficking thing, but always be aware of your surroundings and record and report,” she said.

The woman followed up and reported that the man filming her was identified as a class 1 sex offender who was “arrested for molestation and rape.”
The footage posted on TikTok and Walmart’s security footage was turned over to the man’s parole officer as evidence.
“The reason why you videotape and take pictures is so you can give it to the police and you can post it everywhere locally and blast that person’s face everywhere so they cannot hide and they get caught,’ she explained.

The mom has now decided to press charges against the man after finding out he stalked her the day after his parole was terminated.
“Now it’s going to go to a judge, and he’s going to be summoned to court,” she said. “I’m hoping this creep doesn’t show up to court. That is an automatic warrant for his arrest.”
“The officer [on the case] spoke with the [man’s former] parole officer, and she told him, if it made me feel any better, it wasn’t my daughter that he was interested in. It was me,” she added. “[It] doesn’t make me feel any better. It’s disgusting and disturbing either way.”
