Keanu Reeves Stars In New ‘John Wick 4’ And Receives Shocking Reviews

The highly anticipated fourth installment in the John Wick franchise, John Wick: Chapter 4, is due to hit theaters on March 24.

The movie, which will be the longest in the franchise yet at 169 minutes, sees Keanu Reeve’s titular character take on a new villain, Marquis de Gramont (Bill Skarsgard). Along with Reeves and Skarsgard, the movie will feature Ian McShane, Laurence Fishburne, Donnie Yen, Hiroyuki Sanada, Shamier Anderson, Lance Reddick, and pop musician Rina Sawayama.

Initial reactions to the movie are glowing, with many praising the movie’s pacing and action choreography, especially the performance of Donnie Yen. CinemaBlend critic Eric Eisenberg wrote on Twitter that the movie “earns” its 169-minute runtime and that the set pieces were “phenomenal”. Consequence editor Liz Shannon Miller wrote on Twitter that the movie’s three-hour runtime “makes so much sense when you’re going *that* hard”, with the third act alone being “glorious”. Film critic Erik Weber went as far as to call John Wick: Chapter 4, “one of the greatest action movies ever made”.

Rotten Tomatoes critic Kirsten Acuna wrote on Twitter that Yen makes for an “INCREDIBLE addition to the franchise” with the movie at times feeling “like a video game come to life”. She also praised the franchise for finding creative ways to turn mundane objects into deadly weapons. Collider’s Therese Lacson also wrote on Twitter that director Chad Stahelski “makes every frame count” in the action-packed sequel. Nerd Reactor’s John Nguyen wrote on Twitter that the movie’s action impresses even in comparison to the rest of the series, with Yen being the “icing on the cake”.

John Wick: Chapter 4 is sure to be a hit with audiences and critics alike. With so many glowing reviews already, it looks set to be a thrilling and action-packed conclusion to the franchise.
