Jurassic Park Actor Reveals Shocking News

Legendary actor Sam Neill recently posted a selfie video on his Instagram page with a message to his supporters. In the video, Neill discussed his stage 3 blood cancer diagnosis, and his latest memoir, Did I Ever Tell You This? which talks about his cancer experience.

The 75-year-old Jurassic Park actor opened up about his cancer diagnosis in his new book, and in an interview with The Guardian. In the post, Neill asked his fans not to worry about him as he is in remission for 8 months now.

Neill, who is also a vintner and an author, went on to tell his followers what he has been up to in the past few months. He is currently working on the Peacock series Apples Never Fall with Annette Bening and wrote his memoir.

The actor is best known for his role in Jurassic Park, The Hunt for Red October, and other films. Neill concluded his post by reminding his readers that he is doing fine and urged them to read the book.

“I just wish the headline wasn’t ‘that thing’ so much, because the main thing is that I have written this book, it’s called Did I Ever Tell You This?, and it does mention cancer because that’s the sort of context in which I wrote it,” he said. “But I didn’t really mean to write a book. I needed something to do while I was undergoing treatment, and I am used to going to work, and I suddenly couldn’t go to work.”

In the interview with The Guardian, Neill revealed that he was diagnosed with a rare form of non-Hodgkin lymphoma after experiencing swollen glands last March. The actor had to start undergoing chemotherapy once a month, which will likely continue for the rest of his life.

“I can’t pretend that the last year hasn’t had its dark moments,” Neill told The Guardian. “But those dark moments throw the light into sharp relief, you know, and have made me grateful for every day and immensely grateful for all my friends.”

The memoir is not about Neill’s cancer but it is a “spiral thread” throughout. In the first chapter, Neill wrote about his diagnosis, the dark moments, and being grateful for his friends. The book is set to release on Tuesday.
