Jennifer Lopez, the multi-talented singer, actress, and producer, has recently released a new Amazon Prime documentary titled The Greatest Love Story Never Told.
The documentary offers an intimate, behind-the-scenes look into the making of her latest album This Is Me… Now, as well as her twenty-year journey of self-discovery and love. During the movie, Jennifer reveals the famous faces that she had invited to make appearances but ultimately turned down her offer.
Among the stars that Jennifer had approached were Khloe Kardashian, Taylor Swift, Snoop Dogg, Bad Bunny, Vanessa Hudgens, Lizzo, and Ariana Grande. According to one of Jennifer’s team members, all of these celebrities were either unavailable or declined the offer. Jennifer had also wanted actors Jason Momoa and Jennifer Coolidge to star in her film. However, they also declined the offer.
Despite the numerous rejections, the This Is Me… Now movie features an impressive lineup of famous personalities, including Jane Fonda, Trevor Noah, Kim Petras, Post Malone, Keke Palmer, Sofia Vergara, Jenifer Lewis, Jay Shetty, Neil deGrasse Tyson, and Sadhguru.
Jennifer even managed to get her beloved husband, Ben Affleck, to appear in the film, playing the role of Rex Stone/ Biker. Her long-time friend Fat Joe also makes an appearance as her therapist.
The documentary also delves into Jennifer’s decision to make the film. According to reports, it was entirely self-financed and cost $16 million to bring to life. The film was inspired by Jennifer’s rekindled romance with Ben Affleck, and it is part of a three-way project about her famous search for love and how she ultimately found it with her husband.
The movie’s release has received a positive response from both critics and fans, with a high rating of 81% on the tomatometer on Rotten Tomatoes and a 91% fan reaction. Jennifer’s decision to pour her own money into the project seems to have paid off, and the public has been eagerly waiting for the release of the documentary.
The couple’s love story started in 2002 when they dated while filming the movie Jersey Girl. They became engaged the following year but broke up in 2004. However, almost two decades later, they got back together and eventually married in 2022.
During the documentary, Jennifer and Ben detail the highs and lows of their rekindled romance, with Ben admitting that he had initially asked Jennifer to keep their relationship offline. He explains that he had no interest in becoming a fixture on her social media accounts.
