In a recent appearance at the Psychedelic Science conference in Denver, Jaden Smith, the 24-year-old actor/rapper and son of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, made a shocking revelation about his family’s experiences with psychedelic drugs. Jaden credited his mother, Jada Pinkett Smith, for being the first to explore these substances, leading the rest of the family down a similar path.
“I think it was my mom, actually, that was really the first one to make that step for the family,” Jaden stated during the conference. “It was just her for a really, really long time, and then eventually it just trickled and evolved, and everybody found it in their own ways.”
According to Jaden, using psychedelics with his family has had a profound impact on their relationships, particularly with his siblings, 22-year-old sister Willow and half-brother Trey, who is 30. He explained that the psychedelic experiences have helped him find empathy and love for his siblings, creating a deeper connection.
“Siblings can argue so much and fight so much, and lord knows me and my siblings have done so much of that in the past,” Jaden revealed. “But the level of love and empathy that I can feel for them inside of the (psychedelic) experiences and outside of the experiences has been something that’s profound and beautiful.”
Jaden emphasized that the psychedelic substances have helped the family break free from old patterns of thinking that often led to arguments. He described how the drugs “open up our minds” and create space for personal growth and resolution of conflicts.
Jada Pinkett Smith herself has acknowledged her use of “plant medicine” in the past to combat depression. In a now-canceled episode of her show “Red Table Talk” in 2021, she spoke openly about using these substances and their positive impact on her mental health.
“In the book, I really explain all of that extensively,” Jada mentioned, referring to her upcoming book, “Worthy,” set to be released in the fall. She recognized the assumptions and falsehoods that have circulated about her family and took ownership of her participation in creating that narrative.
The Smith family’s openness about their experiences with psychedelics has sparked both curiosity and controversy among the public. While some admire their willingness to share their transformative journey, others express concern about the potential risks associated with using such substances.
After the slap heard around the world, I found and watched some of the Red Table Talk videos. I believe Jada to be totally self-absorbed and completely dismissive of the feelings of any of the people who love her. Will is a man totally in love with his emotionally abusive wife. It’s so very sad to see how she manipulates him to her wishes. He is to defend her when she wishes it and then go along with her blatant unfaithfulness. I pity him very much. He seems to be a nice man and Jada takes advantage of his love for her to have her own way all the time. He would no doubt be happy without her. She is abusive and narcissistic. With this article, she proves to be the worst kind of mother as well. I hope someday Will and the kids can get completely away from her and her abuse.
