According to PEOPLE, famous weatherman Al Roker was rushed back to the hospital just one day after he was released.
Al Roker, who is a journalist, television personality, and author, has been recovering from blood clots in his leg and lungs.
On Friday, the Today show weather anchor was rushed back to the hospital by an ambulance.
A source close to Roker told PEOPLE, “Al was rushed to the hospital after Thanksgiving.”
According to Page Six, “His condition was worrying, but once back in the hospital, he improved.”
Al “had to go to the hospital in an ambulance, and [Roker’s wife Deborah Roberts] was locked out of her car and couldn’t get inside it. The car malfunctioned. She couldn’t get her phone or any of her belongings,” the source told PEOPLE.
In an Instagram post, Roker spoke of his earlier hospitalization, “So many of you have been thoughtfully asking where I’ve been. Last week I was admitted to the hospital with a blood clot in my leg, which sent some clots into my lungs.”

“After some medical whack-a-mole, I am so fortunate to be getting terrific medical care and on the way to recovery,” he continued. “Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers and hope to see you soon. Have a great weekend, everyone.”
Roker shared an update just before Thanksgiving, letting his followers know that he was leaving the hospital just in time for the holiday. Due to health, Roker missed this year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, his first absence from the parade in 27 years.
He said, “This is my version of the Thanksgiving Day Parade — getting ready to leave the hospital! Time to blow this taco stand. Woohoo!”
His wife, Deborah Roberts, also posted on Instagram about his release just before Thanksgiving, saying, “Thursday thankfulness and then some. Holding on tight and cherishing this moment like never before. Welcome home, my dear sweetheart, @alroker. Gratitude isn’t an adequate description, but we will start there. Brilliant medical minds. Loving family and friends. Unceasing Prayer warriors. #thanksgiving”
Sadly, Roker found himself back in the hospital, and we’re praying for his recovery.
