He Was The Bad Boy Of The NFL But What He Just Did In Tennessee Is Changing Everything

Former Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Johnson is known for his majestic route running and electric personality, as well as his generosity.

Often Johnson shares images of his philanthropy and did so again Saturday during his first trip to Knoxville, Tennessee.

The former NFL player is in Knoxville for the weekend, accompanying his daughter, Cha’iel, on an official visit to UT and then headed to the Tennessee football game against Kentucky on Saturday.

Cha’iel is currently a senior in high school and is a track star. She is the reigning two-time 800-meter Florida state champion.

While in Knoxville, Johnson dined at an IHOP and tweeted an image of his $14 bill with a $1,000 tip left on the receipt.

The six-time Pro Bowler wrote a note on the store’s copy of the receipt which read “it’s my first time in the ‘Ville, going to the game tonight but I don’t know the Rocky Top song.”

Johnson also tweeted out two other bills that spanned the three-day period in which he left other $1,000 tips.

Johnson left another $1000 tip on a $27.37 and a $341.00 bill with an ‘I love you’ note scrawled on them.

Posted on the tweets of each receipt was the Bible verse ‘Proverbs 11:25’ in the caption.

The passage reads, “A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.”

Johnson has seemed to turn the page on his bad boy image as he captured the hearts and minds of NFL fans across the league during his 11-year NFL career.

Formerly known as Chad Ochocinco, the wide receiver played 10 seasons with Cincinnati. Johnson was also part of the New England Patriots team during the 2011 season.
