Supermodel Gisele Bündchen and jiu-jitsu instructor Joaquim Valente were recently spotted running together in Costa Rica, sparking rumors of a potential relationship.
However, a source close to Bündchen quickly squashed the speculation, claiming that Valente is simply a martial arts instructor for the supermodel and her children.
The sighting of Bündchen and Valente in Costa Rica comes just two months after the supermodel finalized her divorce from former NFL quarterback Tom Brady. Bündchen and her two children, Benjamin Rein, 12, and Vivian Lake, 9, were first spotted in Costa Rica with Valente two weeks later. The supermodel wore matching olive running shorts and sports bra, while Valente sported a light blue T-shirt and black running shorts.
The pair’s running session in Costa Rica follows Brady’s heartbreaking NFL loss, which eliminated him and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from the Super Bowl. Bündchen took to Instagram last February to share her appreciation for Valente’s martial arts classes, writing that she feels “stronger, more confident and empowered” since she began practicing self-defense with him.

Bündchen and her children returned to New York City one week after their first Costa Rica trip. Reports from The Daily Mail suggest that the supermodel stopped by her and Brady’s Manhattan townhouse before heading back to the airport. Meanwhile, Brady was seen having lunch with his children in a Brooklyn Heights pizza restaurant.
Though the supermodel and Brady’s split is recent, a source close to Brady told People that the two have agreed that their children will have “full access to both [parents], whenever they want.”
Bündchen has also returned to the modeling scene as she stars in a new campaign with Louis Vuitton, her first since the divorce. The colorful new campaign features Bündchen in a swirl of colorful dots cradling purses from Louis Vuitton’s Yayoi Kusama collection while topless and wearing jeans.
