From Bad To Worse- Tom Brady In Even More Hot Water- This Time With Our Veterans

Tom Brady, NFL quarterback and seven-time Super Bowl champion really missed the mark when he insulted veterans of the US armed forces by comparing playing pro football to life in the service recently.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB told the Brooklyn Nets’ Kevin Durant on the “Let’s Go! pod cast show, “I almost look at a football season like you’re going away on deployment in the military, and it’s like, ‘man, here I go again.’ ”

Many are fuming at the extremely inaccurate comparison between playing a game and fighting for our country with your life on the line.

One Twitter commenter said,

Members of the military were quick to tell the delusional football player — who will be making just a little over a soldier’s wage at around $83.9 million last year— how wrong he is.

@angryvet59 stated, “I have a grudging respect for Tom Brady but his remarks about comparing a football season to a military deployment was, to me as an Afghanistan Vet quite insulting.”

Jason Taravella tweeted, “My father served 2 Vietnam tours, him & his friends were appalled. Tell that b–ch @TomBrady to dodge bullets, wear soaking wet boots for weeks, worry about landmines. The guy plays an effing sport, it frankly is gross.”

Alberto Romero, a combat veteran, now a meteorologist tweeted, “I really really REALLY hope @TomBrady gives a public apology for his ignorant remarks.” He also posted in the twitter post a venn diagram showing the few things football and military life have in common.

He continued saying, “I’m sure Mr. Pat Tillman would not agree with him.” Pat Tillman was an Arizona Cardinals defensive back player who left the league in 2002 to join the US Army Rangers in the wake of the 9/11 terror attacks. He died of friendly fire in 2004.

The comment resounded with many. One Twitter user named Jonathan Adamany said that Brady’s achievements quake in the face of true heroes like Tillman.

Adamany wrote, “#TomBrady   may have 7 #SuperBowl rings, but he is no Army Ranger Corporal Pat Tillman.”

Brady’s ignorant comment is one of many recent fumbles by the soon-to-be Hall of Famer since his marital rumors began these past few weeks.

In another misstep he publicly berated the Bucs’ offensive line during the team’s 20-18 loss against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Brady was also not wearing a wedding band while leaving his Pennsylvania hotel prior to the loss of the Bucs’ and Steelers game.
