Fans Aren’t Happy As Jenna Ortega Faces Backlash For Doing This On Hit Netflix Show ‘Wednesday’

Actress, Jenna Ortega has been slaying it in the new hit show, Wednesday on Netflix, however, she’s now under fire for filming while being sick and most fans are not happy.

In the Tim Burton-directed series, Ortega plays the role of Wednesday Adams and in one scene, dances in a way befitting of an Adams family member to the sounds of The Cramps’ 1981 song “Goo Goo Muck.”

Though the new show is hugely popular, fans are upset by the fact that the actor had COVID while performing the dance number as she recently revealed in an interview with NME.

“I’m not a dancer and I’m sure that’s obvious. I got the song about a week before and I just pulled from whatever I could… it’s crazy because it was my first day with COVID so it was awful to film,” she stated.

Ortega went on to say, “Yeah, I woke up and – it’s weird, I never get sick, and when I do it’s not very bad – I had the body aches,” she then continued to say she also had other common symptoms like a sore throat.

Ortega said, “They were giving me medicine between takes because we were waiting on the positive result.”

Ortega told NME that due to her being sick, she did request to re-shoot the scene, but was denied because of time constraints.

People on the internet were shocked by the production team’s decision to have her film while under the weather and many commented on the fact.

“Jenna Ortega filming a whole scene while waiting for her Covid test results and with obvious symptoms isn’t ‘professional,’ it’s just completely irresponsible,” said one Twitter user.
