Armed Robbers Met Their Match When They Came Face To Face With This Feline

A 20-pound Calico cat named ‘Bandit’ helped stop two armed robbers from entering her owners’ house by waking up the owner in the middle of the night.

The Belden, Mississippi native, Fred Everitt, tells of the heroic actions of his cat Bandit and credits the cat with possibly saving his life.

The attempted robbery took place in the middle of the night on July 25. Everitt said he was awoken by Bandit’s meows at first. Then, she raced into the bedroom and jumped onto the bed. It was here that Bandit started to display some odd behavior. Bandit began to pull off the comforter on the bed and began clawing at Everitt’s arms. At this point, Everitt knew something was terribly wrong.

Everitt said, “She had never done that before, I went, ‘What in the world is wrong with you?’”

Everitt immediately got up to see what could possibly be wrong. What he saw shocked him. Two young men were outside his back door. Everitt goes on to say that one had a handgun, and the other was using a crowbar to try and pry the door open.

Upon seeing the intruders, Everitt retrieved a handgun. By the time Everitt returned to the kitchen, the would-be intruders had already fled. Everitt told the newspaper that he did not call the police.

Everitt said, “It did not turn into a confrontational situation, thank goodness, but I think it’s only because of the cat.”

“You hear of guard dogs,” said Everitt, 68. “This is a guard cat.”

He said the situation could have been different without Bandit and we agree! Thanks to the heroic actions of the cat who is ironically named Bandit, Everitt is sleeping safe and sound in his bed tonight and Bandit will continue to be on the lookout! Burglars beware!
