Amanda Seyfried’s Red Carpet Look Experiences a Hilarious Fashion Emergency At The Golden Critics Choice Awards

Amanda Seyfried has certainly had a busy awards season. From her stunning red carpet looks to her heartfelt acceptance speeches, it is clear she is a force to be reckoned with. However, at the 2023 Critics Choice Awards, Seyfried experienced a much different kind of award show moment: a fashion emergency.

The actress hit the red carpet in a gorgeous archival gold dress by the French fashion house. Unfortunately, the dress wasn’t in the best condition. During a red carpet interview with Access Hollywood, Seyfried revealed that the dress was “ripping and actually breaking”. She joked about having to take it off, but accepted the fashion circumstances and continued to model the dress with the floppy sleeve.

“I’m just going to take off my dress,” she joked as one of her sleeves continued to slip down her arm. She continued by saying, “Honestly it’s old, it’s beautiful!”

Despite the fashion emergency, Seyfried looked stunning in the metallic design, which was cut from a single piece of twisted, fringed gold lamé chiffon. She paired the dress with Cartier jewelry, gold liquid metallic Stuart Weitzman heels, a bold red lip, and a chic ponytail. It’s no wonder Seyfried felt like a winner in the dress.

Seyfried accepted the award for best actress for The Dropout. Unfortunately, when it came time to accept her award Seyfried had to cover up her fashion emergency. She was seen wearing a black jacket and let her hair down in loose waves to cover up the broken gown.

But this isn’t the first fashion emergency Seyfried has had this awards season. At the virtual 2021 Golden Globes, the star’s at-home glam – again styled by Stewart – featured a coral Dolce & Gabbana dress. Unfortunately, the dress was stuck in New Jersey for 36 hours before being shipped off to Georgia where Seyfried was staying at the time.
