A father and son were in for a surprise when a humpback whale breached through the water and then knocked against their boat while they were fishing off the coast of New Jersey.

In another story, a local whale watcher captured a rare sight off the coast of San Diego this week.
Photographer Domenic Biagini, captured a video on his drone of a rare and endangered blue whale and its calf about 12 miles off the coast of Mission Beach.
“This kind of footage of a blue whale calf pretty much doesn’t exist. It’s me and the Our Planet documentary people that have ever captured something like this. That’s about it,” he said.
The blue whale is the largest animal on the planet, weighing as much as 200 tons. That’s around 400,000 pounds or approximately 33 elephants!
