2022 was a big year for Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck. The couple, who first met on the set of Gigli in 2002 and had previously been engaged in the past, finally tied the knot in August of 2022. Now, JLo has shared some never-before-seen photos from their wedding, including a snap of her stunning green engagement ring and a look at their Las Vegas legal union.
The photos, which were part of a montage shared on Lopez’s Instagram page on Sunday, Jan. 1, showed the couple’s wedding preparations, as well as their big day. From trying on dresses and veils to looking at wedding plans, the montage documented the journey to their eventual union. In one photo, Lopez can be seen holding out her hand to show off the estimated five-million-dollar engagement ring that Affleck proposed with in April 2022.
The couple’s wedding took place at Affleck’s Riceboro, Georgia estate and was planned by Colin Cowie. Guests included Affleck’s closest pal Matt Damon and his wife Luciana, Lopez’s former co-star George Clooney, Renee Zellweger, Jane Fonda, and Jimmy Kimmel. In addition to the wedding, Lopez and Affleck also legally married in Las Vegas, NV at the A Little White Chapel.
In one of her On The JLo newsletters, Lopez wrote about the day, saying “when he saw me appear at the top of the stairs that moment it both made absolute sense while seeming still impossibly hard to believe, like the best dream, where all you want is never to awaken.” She also wrote that “some old wounds were healed that day and the weight of the past finally lifted off our shoulders.”
Overall, it was a big year for Lopez and Affleck. From their private legal wedding in Vegas to their luxurious ceremony in Georgia, the couple is surely happy to have finally tied the knot after nearly 20 years of knowing each other.
